Every so often a wedding comes along that reminds us exactly why we love this job, and Anna & Pat’s celebration in Dublin, Ireland is one of those. It also happened to fall on a pretty remarkable weekend: the 250th anniversary of the United States. As a Philadelphia wedding videographer used to filming around Pennsylvania and New Jersey, we don’t get to pack our cameras for an overseas trip very often, so when Anna and Pat asked us to fly across the Atlantic and be their Dublin wedding videographer for the weekend, we said yes before we finished reading the email.
The Deerfield Residence is the official home of the U.S. Ambassador to Ireland, and for Anna and Pat it’s a family address: Anna’s father, Ed Walsh, serves as the U.S. Ambassador to Ireland, so the ceremony and reception took place right at his residence, set inside Dublin’s Phoenix Park. It’s easily one of the most striking backdrops we’ve ever filmed. Between the manicured gardens, the grand interiors, and the quiet history in every room, it’s easy to see why this venue makes for such a memorable Deerfield Residence wedding video. From the welcome party to the ceremony to a full fireworks display over the lawn, the setting added an extra layer of magic to every single moment.
Anna and Pat are the kind of couple who light up a room without even trying, and that energy carried through their entire wedding weekend. Their celebration stretched across several days, from a rehearsal dinner to a welcome party to the ceremony and reception, and each event was full of the small, genuine moments that make a wedding film worth watching. Spending the weekend with them, it was obvious this is a partnership built on laughter, patience, and a shared love of a great party.
We were with Anna and Pat for the entire weekend, from welcome drinks at the Guinness Storehouse all the way through to the wedding day at the Deerfield Residence. This Dublin wedding video is packed with highlights: the ceremony was intimate and heartfelt, the band and DJ kept the dance floor full well into the night, and a fireworks finale over the residence grounds gave the whole weekend a send-off nobody in attendance will forget. We even sat down with guests throughout the weekend for reality TV style interviews, capturing their memories, well wishes, and a few laughs on camera. Our team flew in from Philadelphia to document it all, and it quickly became one of our favorite films we’ve ever made, destination or otherwise.
